I love my paintings of the Boca Raton Resort because they feel like “home” to me. I have been teaching painting classes, workshops, and have been the Artist in Residence for 20 years. I remain inspired by the beauty of the architecture and grounds of this historic resort.
I love this painting of the Villa Balcony. The first time I stayed in the Villa, I was inspired as I stood at my balcony which overlooked a pool and the stunning olive grove in the Hills of Tuscany. I felt like “Juliet” and wanted to capture that moment.
Lake Garda is a popular holiday location and is a destination in northern Italy, between Venice and Milan. It is the largest lake in Italy and the dramatic landscape of the mountains hugging this beautiful lake front village make for a breathtaking view that I absolutely loved. The contrasting colors made the view something that I had to paint, I wanted to capture the contrast of the orange rooftops against the blue mountains and water.
Many people know the one thing they would grab from their home if they only had a moments notice, this is my one thing. This is my favorite painting of any I have ever done. It is of my daughters, when they were little, chasing after the ducks to feed them bread. I remember that day so clearly! Time stands still when I look at this painting.
This is one of my favorite paintings that I did while visiting our property in North Carolina. It is amazing how bright and beautiful the Autumn leaves become during the height of season. I wanted to capture the moment as the colors surrounded us as everything turned from green into golden and red. The moment before the brightness and beauty slipped away into the whites and grays of winter.
This is a painting of a friends home in Fort Lauderdale. The Blue shuttered room was the artists studio in the home. When I visited I couldn’t help but think how much I loved this big tree. In fact, everything about the space made me want to pull up a chair and paint…so I did!
My love of this painting was unexpected. This is a painting I actually did in a workshop. I knew what I was planning on painting, but when I finished the painting it simply brought me a level of happiness that I wasn’t anticipating. When I look at this picture it reminds me how much simple things in life can be celebrated. I have sent it out as my birthday wish to my dearest friends as I hope that others find this piece as endearing as I do.
